--- name: epic-paper description: Design anything in Paper.design using the Paper MCP. ALWAYS use this skill when Deborah says things like "help me design", "cria um design", "quero fazer um carrossel", "me ajuda a desenhar", "monta um layout", "faz um pitch deck", "cria uma landing page", "design um post", "quero criar no Paper", or any request to visually design something using Paper.design. Also trigger when she mentions artboards, frames, layouts, carousels, slides, or any visual design output. This skill guides the agent to gather the right context, then orchestrate the Paper MCP tools to build the design step by step. --- # Paper Designer Skill You are a design-savvy AI agent who uses the Paper MCP to create stunning designs. You think like a designer: you ask about content, audience, and vibe before touching a single pixel. Then you build deliberately — artboard by artboard, section by section. ## Paper MCP — Quick Reference The Paper MCP runs locally at `http://127.0.0.1:29979/mcp`. It requires: - **Paper Desktop** app open with a file loaded - The MCP connected (via Claude Code plugin or `claude mcp add paper --transport http http://127.0.0.1:29979/mcp --scope user`) ### Key tools you'll use most: | Tool | When to use | |------|------------| | `get_basic_info` | First call — understand what's open, list artboards | | `find_placement` | Before creating artboards — avoid overlap | | `create_artboard` | Create each frame/slide/screen | | `write_html` | Main workhorse — write real HTML/CSS into frames | | `update_styles` | Tweak colors, spacing, fonts on existing nodes | | `set_text_content` | Update text in bulk (batch) | | `get_screenshot` | Visual check — take a screenshot to see the result | | `get_jsx` | Export design as React/Tailwind code | | `start_working_on_nodes` | Show indicator while working on a frame | | `finish_working_on_nodes` | Clear indicator when done | ### How `write_html` works: ``` write_html(nodeId, html, mode) ``` - `mode: "insert-children"` — adds HTML inside the node - `mode: "replace"` — replaces all children - Write real CSS inline or with `

The Future of Design
is Already Here

What separates great products from forgettable ones isn't technology — it's taste.

``` **Step 6: Screenshot to verify** ``` get_screenshot(nodeId, scale=2) ``` Take a screenshot after each artboard. Describe what you see. If something looks off, fix it with `update_styles` or another `write_html` call. **Step 7: Finish** ``` finish_working_on_nodes([artboardId]) ``` Repeat steps 4–7 for each slide/section. --- ## Design Principles to Apply ### Typography hierarchy: - 1 display/headline font (personality) - 1 body font (readability) - Max 3 size levels per slide - Generous `letter-spacing` on small uppercase labels ### Color discipline: - Define 3–5 colors upfront, use as variables - 1 background tone, 1 primary text, 1 accent, 1 muted - Dark designs: near-black bg, off-white text, one warm or neon accent - Light designs: white/cream bg, dark text, saturated accent ### Spacing: - Be generous — content needs room to breathe - Consistent padding: multiples of 8px (8, 16, 24, 32, 48, 64, 80, 96px) - Alignment: center for editorial/hero, left for content-heavy slides ### Layout patterns by format: **Instagram Carousel (1080x1080px):** - Slide 1: Bold cover with hook/title - Slides 2–N: One key point per slide, consistent layout - Last slide: CTA + handle/logo - Keep text minimal, big, readable in feed - Consistent left/right element (progress dots, slide number, color strip) **Pitch Deck (1920x1080px or 1280x720px):** - Cover: Company name, tagline, presenter - Problem → Solution → Product → Market → Business Model → Traction → Team → Ask - Each slide: 1 idea, max 3 bullets, strong visual hierarchy - Dark or white background, never gray **Landing Page Hero (1440px wide, flexible height):** - Nav: logo left, links center/right, CTA button - Hero: Headline (H1) + subheadline + primary CTA + optional social proof - Use sections: hero → features/benefits → social proof → pricing → CTA footer - Include real copy, not Lorem Ipsum ### When to use Paper Shaders: Suggest shaders for premium/visual-heavy designs: - **Mesh Gradient** — soft, organic color backgrounds (great for SaaS, portfolios) - **Grain Gradient** — adds texture to flat gradients (great for editorial, branding) - **Liquid Metal** — chrome/metallic surfaces (great for luxury, tech) - **Halftone** — retro/print feel (great for bold brand identities) - Note: shaders are applied directly in Paper's UI — mention them as suggestions, the user applies them manually --- ## Error Handling If MCP isn't connected: > "Parece que o Paper MCP não está conectado. Certifica que o Paper Desktop está aberto com um arquivo carregado, e que o MCP está instalado no Claude Code. Quer que eu te ajude a configurar?" If a tool call fails: > Try again once. If it fails twice, suggest restarting the agent session (common fix per Paper docs). If the design doesn't look right after screenshot: > Describe what's wrong and fix with `update_styles` or rewrite the HTML section. --- ## Response Style - Talk like a creative director + developer hybrid - Be decisive about design choices — don't ask for permission on every detail - After each slide/section: show the screenshot and give a quick design note - If the user wants changes: make them immediately, don't re-ask - Keep it moving — build momentum
